1-17-97 In a Jan. 21 letter to dealers, AB Dick president Gerald McConnell stated, "As the industry continues to shake-out, AB Dick will continue to manufacture and provide digital based and offset graphic products." Effective January 17, 1997 AB Dick was sold by its parent company GEC of Great Britain to Paragon Corporate Holdings, a Cleveland OH based division of NESCO. NESCO is a privately held company in Mayfield Heights. NESCO provides engineering services and makes machinery and other products. AB Dick president, Gerald McConnell, said he expects the company to continue operating as a stand-alone firm and that the transition will:be nearly seamless." GEC has owned AB Dick for the last 17 years. Following the announcement several personnel changes have been made. The new VP of sales and service is Dave Scranton. Former VP of sales, Dick Peterson, left AB Dick in 1996 to take on a national dealer sales position with Konica copiers.
