Heidelberg Puncuates Its Prepress Partnerships in Kiel, as Kodak and Creo Pacts Move Forward
The merger of Linotype-Hell into Heidelberger Druckmaschinen took final form recently, with the unveiling of the Heidelberg logo on the new Prepress Business Unit's headquarters in Kiel, Germany. Shortly after the ceremony, Heidelberg's agreement with Canada's Creo also was consummated, when the first Creo Trendsetter CTP platesetters rolled off a new assembly line at the Kiel facility. It was also announced that a Heidelberg Prepress R&D team at Kiel has begun development of a digital printing press in collaboration with Kodak,
as a part of previously announced joint venture established by the two firms.
