Magazine Ad Revenue Grows by $1.5 Billion in 1997
U.S. magazine ad revenue for 1997 grew by almost $1.5 billion over 1996 to $12,754,950,695, according to the latest figures released from the Publishers Information Bureau (PIB). This +13.1 percent year-to-year increase represents the highest growth rate in magazine ad revenue in the last 13 years. Ad pages increased +5.2 percent to 231,370.64, the second highest growth rate (after 1995) in the last 13 years. All top ten advertising categories increased spending in 1997 over 1996.
