Print Market Mirrors Hot Economy: Printers Experience First Quarter Sales Increase of 5.7 Percent

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA -- The printing industry's first quarter sales for 1998 increased 5.7 percent over the first quarter of 1997, indicating that Canadian and U.S. print markets continue to mirror the hot North American economy. While this is healthy growth, the pace of sales increases were off slightly from the 6.5 percent pace of last year's first quarter, according to data collected from Printing Industries of America's Quarterly Market Survey of 300 printing firms.
