Heidelberg/Varn Joint Venture In China
Heidelberg and Varn International have entered into a joint venture to
build a factory designed for producing pressroom chemicals in Foshan China.
This joint venture of leading brands pays testament to the long-term
growth of the printing market in the Peoples Republic of China.
Equipment is now being installed and the first products are planned to
be produced in July. The joint venture will initially service the China
and Hong Kong marketplaces and gradually increase exports to the nearby
markets as is economically feasible.
Tommy Koo has been appointed General Manager of Varn Asiatic Pressroom
Products and will be reporting directly to the Board of Directors. Tommy
has an excellent background in sales and marketing and extensive computer
experience as well.
In filling the pressroom product needs in the Chinese market place, Varn
anticipates bringing into that market the best of technologies from Europe
and the US to satisfy the growing demand for better products with higher
performance.
An official Open House has been planned for the lst of November 1999.
