Intergraph Computer Systems Announces ExtremeZ SAN: Streamlined Data Sharing And Storage System For Large-Sized Files

Intergraph Computer Systems announced ExtremeZ™ SAN, an integrated Storage Area Networking (SAN) solution the delivers radically accelerated access and sharing of large-size files for companies working in publishing/prepress, digital media, MCAD, visual simulation, and other data-intensive fields.

ExtremeZ SAN integrates the industry’s leading SAN technologies from Mercury Computer Systems, Q-Logic, Vixel, and Intergraph Computer Systems to create an open-systems, Fibre Channel-based solution that is available through Intergraph authorized resellers. ExtremeZ SAN’s Fibre Channel backbone delivers exponential performance improvements over traditional SCSI-based storage interfaces, and offers greatly expanded cable length to ensure proximity to data-even when storage is physically located at great distances.

The highly scalable ExtremeZ SAN solution eliminates network slowdowns caused by large file transfers over conventional networking protocols, while centralizing file storage to guarantee file synchronization throughout the enterprise.
