high performance RIP (raster image processor) servers, the GXI RipZ. Available immediately, the GXI RipZ server is a new Pentium® III
Xeon™ processor-based production server equipped with high performance
components such as 10K RPM LVDS disk drives, and the Adaptec 3940 Ultra
2 SCSI controller delivering cutting-edge performance to publishing and
prepress professionals starting at $7,199. The GXI RipZ is ideal for high-performance RIPping and trapping applications
such as AGFA’ s Taipan RIP, Onyx Graphics Corporations’ PosterShop
RIP, and Imation’s TrapWise software. The full-featured GXI RipZ
server delivers outstanding production performance powered by a single
or dual 550 MHz Pentium III Xeon processors running the powerful yet easy-to-use
Windows NT Server operating system. A blazingly fast RIPping or trapping platform, the GXI RipZ server provides
the fastest performance on Intel/Windows NT, outperforming DEC Alpha solutions
in real world prepress production application performance. In a dual processor
configuration, the GXI RipZ server provides multitasking capabilities
to users performing RIPping, trapping, and printing tasks simultaneously. For example, the dual processor-based GX1 RipZ server allows the RIP
to rasterize one page while another is spooling to the printer. This provides
a much more efficiently real-world production scenario than competitive
single processor systems, which delay rasterizing a job in order to spool
another to the printer. In addition, users can choose from an array of prepress and publishing
software bundles including the Prepress Productivity Package which includes
Data Viz’s MacOpener for the ability to read and write Macintosh-based
files and Agfa’s ColorTune, a professional all-in-one solution to
color management. Other available applications include Imation TrapWise
for trapping and Intergraph’s ExtremeZ-IP AppleShare-over-IP server
software for Windows NT. Key features:
The Ultra-Tower chassis provides a total of 7 full-sized expansion slots
and 3 full-sized disk drive bays for up to 58 GB of disk storage. Slightly
taller than a mini tower, the compact Ultra-Tower supports configurations
typically found only in larger full-tower systems. Backed by Service and Support Intergraph’s affordable, state-of-art hardware products are backed
by broad range of maintenance and support options. Ranging from warranty
service to full-service upgrade contracts, Intergraph’s programs
go beyond standard warranty service plans to insure system performance
and continued productivity. Intergraph maintains offices in major cities
worldwide with a highly-trained professional support staff ready to respond
to customer calls. Pricing and Availability
