- Fax: 202-328-8513 April 20, 1999 Promo Stickers From NPES: "Safety First in the 21" is the theme of a new safety awareness
campaign featuring the distribution of safety-oriented promotional logo
stickers by NPES, The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing
and Converting Technologies. The green and black stickers are ideal for affixing to correspondence,
packages, bills of lading, press kits, product literature and many other
documents, as a continuing reminder to industry personnel to follow safe
operating procedures in the workplace. They are available free in rolls of 250 from the NPES Government Affairs
Department by calling 703/264-7200, by taxing 703/620-0994 or sending
an e-mail to govaffairs@npes.org. The stickers have been distributed to NPES members and to participants
of an industry environmental conference. R. R. Donnelley & Sons has
obtained supplies for each of its 40 locations, and POSCO, Inc., is attaching
them to packaging for its chemistry products, where they'll be visible
every time a product is used. "Health and safety is always one of our number one goals,"
said Michael Fiori, Senior Industrial Hygienist with RRD, explaining his
company's quantity order. "Any way we can promote that throughout
our organization is something we're interested in. " He said the
company would urge managers at its locations to use the stickers as widely
as possible. William Fiske, Sr., President of POSCO, Inc., said his company would
use the stickers on correspondence, but more importantly, on the packaging
of its chemistry products. "Attaching them to the packaging is probably
the most effective means of getting the message out," he noted. Robb Gould, VP-Marketing and Sales of Challenge Machinery Co., said his
firm would use the stickers on all sorts of correspondence. "As a
cutter manufacturing company we believe safety needs to be on people's
minds all the time, and these stickers are a good opportunity to reiterate
that idea." Gould said. NPES also offers a series of safety manuals and American National Standards Institute standards describing safe workplace practices. Details of all Association publications and order forms are available of the NPES website at http://www.npes.org.
