Scitex Makes First Appearance At The FESPA Printing-Industry Trade Exhibition in Munich: Introduces Scitex Pressjet™ Wide Format Digital Press

Scitex Corporation Ltd. today unveiled the Scitex Pressjet™ wide-format digital press, designed for silk-screen printers with short-run printing job requirements – up to 150 copies.

"The Scitex Pressjet printer broadens our line of digital printing systems and allows us to branch out into different market applications," said David Reis, president of the Scitex Wide Format Printing Division.

Select customers will beta-test the system beginning in the 3rd quarter of 1999. Scitex expects to offer the Scitex Pressjet system for sale and delivery in first-quarter 2000.

Several features that distinguish the Scitex Pressjet system. These are high productivity, high-quality output with consistent color, ability to handle many different media, and low cost when using less-durable inks.

Key Features:

  • Prints directly on standard flexible media (paper, vinyl, banner material and window graphics)
  • Handles various forms of media in rolls and sheets
  • Allows for double-sided printing (perfect for POS advertising)
  • Handles media as large as 5.4’ by 12’ (1.62m by 3.66m)
  • Produces more than 200 square meters an hour in full color depending on the resolution
  • Print size can be changed for each application
  • Several modes of quality and resolution, up to 330 dpi
  • Automatically cuts sheets to measure and cleans its own printing head

With features like these, the Scitex Pressjet system will give silk-screen printers all the benefits of a digital production environment without sacrificing the quality and flexibility of traditional methods.
