Enfocus Software Inc. announced today that with the growing acceptance
of Adobe® PDF for professional applications, they have signed a licensing
agreement enabling Enfocus' PDF preflighting and correction technologies
to be integrated into the Scitex Brisque™ Digital Front End product
line. The agreement was signed at last week's meeting of the Brisque Advisory
Council, a user group for Brisque DFE professionals. The integration of Enfocus' technologies enables every file arriving
to the Brisque to be automatically checked and corrected based on an extensive,
pre-defined set of rules. This Job Ticket-based application maximizes
the predictability of PDF workflows in Brisque. "With Brisque Extreme™ workflows, Scitex raises the bar by
answering the demand for better tools to support PDF in workflows. The
integration of critical technologies such as those from Enfocus further
completes Scitex' leading solutions for PDF-based workflows," says
Hanan Yosefi, Vice President of Marketing, Scitex Output Solutions Division.
"Enfocus has clearly demonstrated leadership in developing advanced
PDF preflighting and correction tools." Scitex is also about to release its Export PDF module for the Brisque.
This module converts Scitex CT and Line Work jobs into ready-to-print
PDF files that can be used for predictable remote viewing, remote ICC-capable
proofing, or export to other output devices. The CT component is edited
via Adobe Photoshop™. The Export PDF file's Line Work component is
edited using a standard feature found in Enfocus PitStop 4.0. Thus, the
result of the cooperation with Enfocus enables full production editability
of the Export PDF files. Says Peter Soderlund, Business Development Manager for Enfocus Software,
"We are pleased to be able to partner with Scitex, a leader in the
industry. The technology being made available to Scitex is at the foundation
of our new PitStop 4.0 application, the most feature-rich tool available
for production editing and preflighting of PDF documents. This core technology
is ideal for supporting production workflows of cutting-edge systems such
as the Scitex Brisque." Soderlund says Enfocus' experience developing for the open Brisque environment
has reinforced the company's confidence that Brisque is an excellent platform
for PDF workflows. CONTACT: Mark Sullivan/SCITEX at phone: 781.275.5150; email: mark-sullivan@scitex.com
