Bandwidth NOT a "Jewelers" Term Anymore

Believe it or not, in some parts of the country, bandwidth refers to wedding rings and jewelry. In other parts it's just another term for IQ. For creative professionals, it's fast becoming a better way to messenger jobs quickly! Over the past 3 years, the high-speed telecommunications pie has a bigger slice for creative professionals and a smaller one for commercial printers.

High speed telecommunications, share of businesses intending to purchase:
1997: printers 36%, creative pros 64%
1999: printers 30%, creative pros 70%

Why should you care? As prepress tasks continue to move from printing
plants into creative shops, these shops become prospects for high-speed
bandwidth capabilities. While the width of jewelry may not ring your chimes,
tapping into the many opportunities presented by high-speed telecommunications
may ring your cash registers. Watch for this shift to continue and be
sure you have identified your company's telecom prospects.
