COLLABRIA SIGNS STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIP AGREEMENT WITH PRIMESOURCE

MENLO PARK, CA -- Collabria, Inc., the leading provider of eBusiness solutions for print buying and print production management announced today that it has joined in a strategic relationship agreement with PrimeSource, the U.S. distributor of Xeikon Digital Printing systems. Under the agreement, PrimeSource will develop an interface specific to Xeikon digital presses for the Collabria eCommerce service, called PrintCommerce. The new interface will be first demonstrated at the PrimeSource booth (#3702) at Graph Expo'99 in Chicago next week, and is expected to be available to PrimeSource customers by the end of 1999.

"The coming together of digital printing and eCommerce by two established leaders is just natural progression of business and technology," said Alan Hu, President and CEO, Collabria. "Together with PrimeSource, we can provide digital printers and their users with an Internet-based workflow that both accelerates turn-around and reduces the margin for error in the printing process."

In cooperation with Collabria, the new workflow system is being developed by PrimeSource as another ProductionPath (tm) workflow automation module. The Xeikon interface will enable print buyers to order a variety of print materials from a catalog of products displayed on their printer's web browser. Selected print products can be personalized or versioned, proofed on screen, then placed into the print production queue and ready for output to the Xeikon digital press via the Internet in just minutes.

The simplicity of this Internet-based workflow accelerates turnaround time of production, helps eliminate error as the products are chosen by the print buyer without intervention from a third party, and automates most of the procurement process, thus reducing interaction by the printer's sales and production staff.
The system will feature a seamless transfer of customer created orders to Xeikon print production facilities, with all order information, job ticketing, accounting and billing, shipping and job tracking facilitated and automated over the Internet. It will also enable print buyers to more readily benefit from the many benefits of high-quality, short run and variable-print features of Xeikon presses. The result is a truly open and digital workflow that any Xeikon user or print buyer can easily access and use.
"Leveraging Collabria's eBusiness service together with production automation resources provides our Xeikon customers with a significant competitive advantage," said Michael Silverman, Director of Marketing and Product Development for PrimeSource's Digital Printing Group. "As the demand for both eCommerce and digital printing continues to grow, the marriage of these two technologies provides unique new market opportunities for Xeikon press owners and their customers. We're pleased to be working together with Collabria in this effort."
