The event, scheduled next year for March 27th-29th, is underwritten by the leading vendors in the industry, thus enabling VUE/POINT to offer the least expensive user registration fee of any major national graphic arts conference. "We are extremely excited by the quality of this year's sponsors," notes conference organizer Dick Vinocur, president of Footprint Communications. He adds, "Once again, we were over subscribed and had to turn away several potential partners. The net result is that we can claim that those vendors working with us represent the 'best of category' in all areas, from CTP to workflow to digital printing to the latest industry buzz, e-commerce." This year's sponsors are Adobe Systems, Agfa, American Printer, Barco, Besco Graphic Systems, Citiplate, Collabria, Creo Products, DuPont Color Proofing, Electronic Publishing, Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Heidelberg USA, Imation, Impresse, Indigo America, Kodak Polychrome Graphics, Komori America, Noosh, Pitman, Polaroid Graphics Imaging, Presstek, PrimeSource, Scitex America, Vio, WAM!NET, Xerox, and Xinet. The conference sponsors play an important role in the VUE/POINT planning process, which will be kicked off by the annual advisory board meeting on November 19, 1999, drawing close to 50 industry leaders. Input from past attendees and from the advisory board will drive the agenda for this year's conference which will be published on-line by mid December, 1999. What is unique about the event, though, is that the vendors take a back seat to "users" during the actual program, allowing the conference to offer "truth from the trenches, not pitches from the podium." VUE/POINT has grown every year since its inception, with year 2000 attendance expected to exceed 900. An Early Bird Special registration rate of just $395 is currently being offered to "users" only, until December 31, 1999--a $100 savings off the regular $495 rate. The VAR/dealer registration fee is $995, while non-sponsoring vendors can register for $1295. On-line registration is available at www.footcom.com. To register by phone or receive additional information, call 800-962-5650. Contact: Michael Vinocur.
