Gil Carrillo Launches Technology Integration Firm for Latin America
San Antonio, TX -- January 5, 1999 : Industry veteran Gil Carrillo returns to his roots in international marketing with his new company, Global Access Marketing, Inc. The firm will specialize in the technology integration of color management systems, CIP3 process controls, closed-loop inking systems, and computer-to-plate workflows.

Gil will focus on the Latin American marketplace from his base in San Antonio, with special emphasis on multi-national printing companies with plants in foreign countries. His background in the region comes from having worked in Mexico City for 17 years as a graphic arts manufacturer and dealer plus from having a B.S. and M.B.A. in international marketing. His last 15 years in San Antonio have also had a strong focus on business in Mexico. The Global Access Marketing facility will have a demo center, training capability in Spanish, and a totally Latin focused Internet network and database.

Gil has a strong technical background with emphasis on color management and process controls. He managed Southwest Printing Ink Company for seven years and was an early adopter of spectrophotometry for color measurement from monitor to press. The technology integration concept is a systems approach and will involve representing a select group of hardware and software manufacturers specializing in color management and process controls. The "integration" will include sales, installation, training, and ongoing technical support. Gil’s market research in Latin America confirmed that need for an all inclusive package especially in markets where distribution and service are marginal. He will also work under contract with BESCO, servicing that company’s national accounts that have plans in Latin America.

Gil plans a major presence at the Graphics of Americas show in Miami and at DRUPA – Gil spent three years in Germany as an army officer and speaks German. He will represent NAGASA with Latin American trade organizations and will use his extensive travels to write a column for Dealer Communicator on dealers and distribution in the region.

Contact Gil at T: 210-226-6325 or F: 210-222-0164.
