NAGASA Joins Forces with IPA and R&E to Bring DRUPA Prepress Technologies Closer to Home
Washington, DC, February 4, 2000: The North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association (NAGASA) announced today that it would become a supporting sponsor of PREPRESS 2000, a technical seminar being presented jointly by the International Prepress Association (IPA) and the Research and Engineering Council of the Graphic Arts Industry (R&E).

PREPRESS 2000 takes place June 13-15 at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare and replaces separate seminars held by IPA and R&E in previous years. Following soon after the close of DRUPA, PREPRESS 2000 will focus on comparing and assessing the impact that new technologies will have on prepress operations.

In announcing the collaboration, IPA president Hank Hatch commented, "We welcome the support of NAGASA as they represent an important segment of the industry. Their members, and all who attend this joint seminar, will benefit immensely from learning the latest in prepress technologies and techniques as well as networking with over 300 prepress production executives." NAGASA President and CEO Peter Brehm noted, "NAGASA and its members are proud to support efforts that enhance the knowledge and understanding of all segments of the distribution process – customers, dealers, distributors, and manufacturers – about changes in this key arena."

Also supporting the seminar are PrintImage International (formerly the National Association of Quick Printers) and the Electronic Prepress Section of the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation/Printing Industries of America (GATF/PIA).
Subjects to be addressed at PREPRESS 2000 include PDF workflow, workflow automation, digital proofing, color communications and management, remote proofing, direct to plate technologies, standards and specifications, asset management, digital communications and page layout. User panels made up of experienced production personnel will discuss the implications of these technologies on customers' expectations and their operations.

Registration information will be available at www.ipa.org and at www.recouncil.org, or by calling the IPA at 800-255-8141 or the R&E Council at 610-388-7394. NAGASA members receive the member rate to attend this event.
For more information please contact NAGASA at 202-328-8441 or IPA’s Steve Bonoff at 800-255-8141, or email steve@ipa.org.
