G.E. RICHARDS GRAPHIC SUPPLIES TO ACQUIRE TEXAS TYPE
February 7, 2000: G.E. Richards and Texas Type announced today that a
definitive agreement has been signed to merge Texas Type into G. E. Richards.
This transaction continues G. E. Richards’ expansion via acquisition into strategically attractive growth areas not previously served by Richards. According to Larry and Jeff Wagner, President and Vice President of G. E. Richards, "We have been looking for the right opportunity to enter the expanding central and south Texas marketplace.
Texas Type offers great new growth opportunities and better enables our company to serve our base of multi location customers. Julius Hjulian has built a solid base of business in this market and has a reputation for great customer service, honesty, and integrity. "
According to Julius Hjulian, President of Texas Type with headquarters in San Antonio, "The merger with G. E. Richards brings to Texas Type’s employees and customers the resources we need to build on our core business and to expand into new products and geography that would have been difficult for us to accomplish independently. Hjulian goes on to say that "he is excited about becoming part of the G. E. Richards management team and his continuing role in directing the growth for G. E. Richards in the area.
