Screen and Adobe Announce Intorduction of New Adobe PostScript 3 RIP
Rolling Meadows – February 9, 2000: Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Co. Ltd and Adobe Systems Corporation announced today at Seybold Boston a new Adobe ® PostScript 3® RIP called AD-710NT. The first showing of the product took place at the Adobe Solutions Network Pavilion during the Boston Sybold show.

The AD-710NT is a new generation of software RIPS based on Adobe’s PostScript 3 and the ressult of a joint development between Dianippon Screen and Adobe Systems. It runs on a Windows NT-based Intel platform and employs the latest Adobe Printing System Delivery (APSD) PostScript 3 technology with PDF 1.3 capability.

In addition to the use of the newest Adobe PostScript 3 technology deliverable, the AD-710NT has several other new features to enhance quality and productivty. New features include the ability to control all settings by other host computers connected to the network, and parallel processing of jobs. The products also uses a new, 12-bit Alphalogic screening technology that renders a much smoother halftone and gradations on the final separations. Other features of the AD-710NT include in-RIP separation, in-RIP OPI, Adobe in-RIP trapping, as well as TIFF file output and previewing.
