COLLABRIA AND INDOCS TO COLLABORATE ON CREATIVE AND PRINT WORKFLOW INTEGRATION

SAN MATEO, CA -- March 21, 2000: Robert Hu, Vice President, Product Strategy of Collabria and Doris Brown, CEO of Indocs Online announced today at Seybold Boston 2000 the companies will work together to facilitate an eProduction environment that bridges the workflow gap between content creation and the printing/publishing process. The joint effort of the two Internet service providers will enable content originators, designers and creative professionals to edit, annotate and correct page and page elements on-line via Indocs and then track the final output and printing through Collabria.

This integrated workflow allows for significant time and cost savings, immediate and improved communication between the creative professional and the client, and elimination of unnecessary changes. In addition, it will give the printer access to the design files to ensure printability and on-time delivery. The joint service is scheduled to be available in the third quarter of 2000.

"Indocs and Collabria together will close the publishing workflow loop in an easy-to-understand and easy-to-use solution," says publishing workflow consultant and writer Ira Gold. "Collabria streamlines management of print procurement and all of its trappings in an open, web-based environment, while Indocs offers corporate clients and graphic designers real control of their digital assets without investing in expensive, proprietary hardware or software. The deliverable is powerful: highly cost-effective brand control." Collabria will begin development with Indocs Online immediately.

Collabria's service-based system was developed to address the following problems that typical corporate print buyers face:

  • Coordinating a print project with multiple team members, agencies and suppliers;
  • Automating the procurement of catalogued items;
  • Customizing print documents for 1-on-1 Marketing;
  • Decentralizing print purchasing while maintaining control;
  • Ensuring the integrity of production-ready documents.

Collabria addresses these problems with the following features:

  • An on-line project management and tracking system with centralized project specs, automatic milestone alerts and job archiving;
  • A customizable catalog for proofing and reordering templated documents with static and variable data;
  • The ability to change specific data items on-the-fly then distribute on demand;
  • Automatic routing of approvals, inventory management and on-line billing;
  • Built-in technology to create and pass on to your printer production-ready files.

Altogether, these features make up Collabria's Intelligent Print Workplace(tm), a system designed to integrate all functions and players, returning tangible cost savings throughout the total print process.

Indocs Online offers a new eProcess solution focused on an Internet-based production environment, enabling WYSIWYG dynamic editing and access to jobs from design through production, via any standard web browser.
Together, the two companies will provide an open solution that will offer a comprehensive and dynamic communication between all parties, from conception through output.

Collabria and Indocs' complementary solution will provide corporate clients with the next generation of Internet-based production environment tools for pre-press and print materials. Indocs gives corporate headquarters the ability to provide authorized personnel with access to print designs for editing (including multi-lingual capabilities), approval, tracking, and print procurement from any internal or external resource-from anywhere in the world. Updates to text and images will be immediate.

Collabria's network of users will have access to these job files (e.g., to inform design of a change to the press profile) from the start, as the document information is accessible through client authorization and data transfer between systems. Once files are completed, clients will be able track the print jobs through production, printing and delivery using Collabria PrintCommerce(tm). After the job is completed, files, including digital assets, may be archived for future use.
