GE Information Services (GEIS) Announces PAN-EUROPEAN
ISO-9001 ACCREDITATION
GEIS announced that on Tuesday, March 29th, the external auditor - David
Webb from the British Standards Institution (BSI) –confirmed the
company’s continued pan-European ISO 9001 certification. Also announced:
- GE Information Services, trading under the name GE Global eXchange
Services, is probably the only B2B e-Commerce ISO 9001 certified provider
in EMEA.
- EMEA has been ISO 9001 certified since October, 1999. The GEIS U.K.
operation has been accredited since 1991.
- EMEA certification includes the ISO 9000 TickIT certificate, one of
only 1,400 issued world-wide.
- GE Information Services, trading under the name GE InterBusiness Operations,
has been ISO 9002 certified since 1994.
According to GEIS, these accreditations mean:
- Customers competing against incumbent B2B e-Commerce providers have
internationally recognized proof of knowing how it's done.
- Customers who are selling - Integration Brokers for instance - to
Dotcom's and prospects who want to do more than brochureware, can rely
on you to know how to deliver the products/service they need for B2B
e-Commerce.
- Prospects who want customization can rely on you to have a Professional
Services organization ready to do it, holding one of the 1,400 TickIT
certificates issued around globe. (Source: Laurent Verney, VP EMEA Sales
& Services)
Among the changes both companies are undergoing is the adoption of a
new
URL for our Web site, new e-mail addresses, and new acronyms. GEIS will
notify customers when the new URL and e-mail addresses go into effect.
For GE Global eXchange Services:
URL: www.gegxs.com
Acronym: GXS
e-mail convention: firstname.lastname@gxs.ge.com
For GE InterBusiness Operations:
Acronym: GEIO
e-mail convention: firstname.lastname@geio.ge.com
(At this point, we are not planning to have a separate URL for GE InterBusiness
Operations)
As a reminder, the proper use of acronyms requires that the full company
name be spelled out first, followed by the acronym in parenthesis. Thereafter,
you can use the acronym.
