Morway Signs Pact For GOprinter.com¹s portfolio e-Commerce Suite

CAROL STREAM, Ill. -- April 14, 2000: One of the largest printing blanket converters in North America is taking its business online, using GOprinter.com’s portfolio electronic commerce suite to reach current and potential customers.

Cleveland-based Morway Corporation, the second-largest blanket converter on the continent with facilities in Southern California and Texas, says it sees the potential for sales over the Internet growing to supplement traditional channels. "Adding an e-commerce dimension to our sales efforts will allow our sales staff to be more proactive and I expect the return on investment to be very apparent in a short period of time," said Scott Harrison, Chief Operating Officer of the closely held company. "We think we’ll see a 60 percent reduction in inbound phone queries from customers, allowing us to refocus a very talented staff on outbound selling efforts. " Harrison added that he expects the increased efficiency will be similar to adding an additional salesperson to Morway’s staff.

"We are very pleased that an industry leader like Morway chose GOprinter as its strategic partner to build its e-commerce solution," said Greg Howell, President and CEO of GOprinter, a leading provider of business-to-business Internet-based electronic commerce solutions for the printing industry supply chain. The solution GOprinter is developing for Morway includes electronic catalog creation and management, integration into Morway’s order entry system, and the building and hosting of the company’s website.

"One of the major reasons we partnered with GOprinter is they know and understand our business," said Harrison. "We are not looking to sell direct through another provider, but instead want to improve the relationships with our existing channel partners through e-commerce. No other provider understood and embraced what we wanted to accomplish the way GOprinter did. "Their people focused on what we were saying and really listened to our needs. Their industry knowledge has improved communications between our companies and has shortened the learning curve during the design process," he added.

Harrison noted the GOprinter integration team meshed well with Morway’s staff, reinforcing the decision to seek a partner to launch an e-commerce initiative. "GOprinter has developed a robust e-commerce solution. It would have been nearly impossible using our current staff and equipment to create an online venue, so we decided to go with an industry leader that understands and appreciates what we’ve been doing all along," he added.
