Kodak, Heidelberg Announce Integrated Color Proofer, Digital Press System
Kodak Professional and Heidelberg Direct Imaging are bundling
a digital color proofing device and a direct-to-press printer into one,
fully integrated solution. The Heidelberg Quickproofer by Kodak Professional
bundles the Heidelberg Quickmaster DI digital press and the Kodak DCP 9000
desktop color proofer. It merges the two devices' RIP and color management
functionality. The system will be co-branded by both Kodak Professional
and Heidelberg, and will be sold through Heidelberg. Kodak Professional
will sell the proofing media. Kodak Professional and Heidelberg announced
in June that hey were forming a strategic alliance to provide integrated
digital workflow solutions for the prepress, printing and publishing industries.
The alliance was described as providing a basis for future technology, product
