R.R. Donnelley to open southern California, Dallas
premedia centers
R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company will open two new full-service
Premedia Technology centers near Los Angeles and in Dallas. To be completed
by June 2000, the new facilities will offer catalog, retail, publishing
and corporate customers end-to-end digital photography, content management,
and premedia services for both print and online channels. Premedia Technologies
has existing facilities in Chicago; Minneapolis; Lancaster, Penn.; Lynchburg,
Va.; and Warsaw, Ind. The new operations will offer prepress and digital
asset management technology, including high-end scanners and proofing
equipment and high-speed communications capabilities. The Los Angeles
facility will complement R.R. Donnelley's printing and distribution operations
in the area. The Dallas center will be linked with the company's newly
acquired Dallas-based photography studio.
