get them posted. October 1 Imation Corporation announced that its has established
a cooperative relationship with Exxtra Corporation to work towards enabling
their imagesetters to use Imation's new DryView imagesetting film, a hard-dot
quality film that requires no chemical processing. Imation DryView imagesetting
film uses a photothermographic process where the film is exposed with an
infrared (IR) light source and developed with moderate heat for a few seconds.
Commercial printers, quick printers, in-plant printers can realize substantial
benefits from the use of dry film system, including increased productivity,
elimination of "wet chemistry" processing and decreased costs.
Exxtra has worked with Imation in the development of a new dry film imagesetters
and will release a line of dual media imagesetters that will expose both
traditional silver halide films and Imationís new DryView film. Excerpt
