BOSTON, MA -- May 4, 2000 -- Digital Art Exchange, Inc. (DAX), the leading Internet and Managed Network Service Provider for the graphic communications industry and creator of PrintPlanet.com, today announced the addition of an industry calendar of events to the PrintPlanet.com eCommunities for the Graphic Arts Industry web site. As the leading site for information exchange in the graphic arts community, PrintPlanet.com created the Industry Calendar of Events to highlight trade shows, seminars, conferences and other events for its subscribers. The calendar also offers another unique opportunity for subscribers to actively participate in the web site, either by submitting events for the calendar or taking part in PrintPlanet.com's Event Partners program.

About PrintPlanet.com...
Among graphic communications professionals, PrintPlanet.com is the premier discussion site for the industry. The eCommunities on PrintPlanet.com create a centralized network of graphic arts, prepress and printing professionals and other individuals who are interested in exchanging news, tips and knowledge that is crucial to the success of the industry. The over 13,000 subscribers of the ten forums on PrintPlanet.com engage in lively daily discussions that cover a broad range of topics, including computer-to-plate implementation, asset management, page layout and production workflow issues, color management, eCommerce and other subjects related to the printing, prepress and graphic arts industry.

Why the Calendar...
Since industry professionals on PrintPlanet.com generate all of the activity on the forums, a user-driven industry calendar of events was a logical addition, further making PrintPlanet.com the site for interaction in the industry. While members can view the calendar for upcoming trade shows and other happenings, the PrintPlanet.com Industry Calendar of Events goes a step further, providing a unique opportunity for its active subscriber base. All PrintPlanet.com subscribers can submit information to DAX pertaining to any graphic communications industry-specific event that they would like the rest of the subscribers to know about.

And International Events...
Since approximately 25% of PrintPlanet.com's subscribers are located outside the U.S., submitting information pertaining to international events is encouraged. If applicable to the PrintPlanet.com audience, DAX will add all confirmed submissions to the PrintPlanet.com Industry Calendar of Events.

"This new interactive calendar does more than allow subscribers to choose from a comprehensive selection of industry events to attend. It gives them the opportunity to promote smaller, lesser-known conferences or events that might be of particular interest to the forums that they belong to on PrintPlanet.com," said Dave Mainwaring, founder and moderator of several of the eCommunities.

"PrintPlanet.com continues to evolve and attract an enormous number of industry professionals. DAX believes it is important to show appreciation to all of the members by adding unique services, such as this industry calendar, that allow members to actively participate in other areas on PrintPlanet.com, in a similar way that they do on the forums."

New Level of Subscribers...
Along with accepting event submissions, PrintPlanet.com is further opening the door of the Industry Calendar of Events with the creation of a new level of subscribers, the PrintPlanet.com Event Partners. As official PrintPlanet.com Event Partners, this select group of individuals, associations and organizations will receive special access privileges to actually log on to the PrintPlanet.com home page and post their own additions to the Industry Calendar of Events in real time.

Currently, DAX is considering any organizations that are heavily involved in the education and development of the graphic communications industry, or that have supported or hosted several PrintPlanet.com events throughout the past two years, as potential PrintPlanet.com Event Partners with this privilege.

In addition to the Industry Calendar of Events, PrintPlanet.com is offering other opportunities for members to get involved. While more eCommunities will be added by DAX, in the future, members will be able to create their own graphic communications-oriented discussion forums on PrintPlanet.com.

How to Join or Submit Events...
If you are interested in joining any of the free discussion forums on PrintPlanet.com, visit www.printplanet.com. If you would like to post an event on the PrintPlanet.com Industry Calendar of Events, please send a detailed email, including the official event name, location, date and time and event URL, followed by contact information, to events@printplanet.com.
