NAGASA Chair, Dealer Vice President, and Board Elected At Forum 2000

Washington, DC, June 1, 2000: The North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association (NAGASA) membership approved new officers and directors for 2000 - 2002. The election took place on Tuesday, April 11, at the Hilton Palacio del Rio in San Antonio at the end of the Forum 2000 conference. Kyle Walker, 1999/2000 Board Chair, and Vice President of Walker Supply Company of Rockville, Maryland, presided over the election, which took place during NAGASA’s 8th Annual Membership Meeting.

Joe Thornhill, President and CEO, Taylor Impression, Inc, Nashville, Tennessee, is NAGASA’s Board Chair. Voted in as Vice President/Dealer 2000-2001 and Chair-Elect, 2001-2002 was Ralph Agosta, Vice President, Sales, Morgan Graphic Supply, San Francisco, California. Directors elected for the 2000-2002 period include:

  • Richard Jacob, President, Statewide Offset, Inc., Somerville, New Jersey
  • Ed Khouri, Executive Vice President, London Litho, Lincolnwood, Illinois
  • Don Dales, Manager, Dales & Graphic Systems, L.L.C., Novi, Michigan
  • Mike Neroni, National Sales Director, Day International, Dayton, Ohio
  • Ron Peterson, Director, Graphics Channels US and Canada Region, Kodak Polychrome Graphics LLC, Norwalk, Connecticut
  • Larry Ritsema, President & CEO, The Challenge Machinery Company, Grand Haven, Michigan

Manufacturer Vice President Kelly VandenBosch, Sales Manager, Printing and Imaging, X-Rite Corporation and Secretary/Treasurer Paul Doucette, President and CEO, Doucette Corporation, continue in their roles for the second year of their two-year terms along with the rest of the Board. Walker will continue to serve as an officer of the association, replacing Brain Kroot, as Immediate Past Chair (2000-2001).

At the close of the election process, Thornhill thanked outgoing Board members for their support of the organization and presented plaques to each member present in recognition of their service to the association. Those honored included:

  • W. Bruce Goodwin, President, Glunz & Jensen, Inc., Elkwood, Virginia
  • Julius Hjulian, President, Texas Type Company/Division of G. E. Richards Company, San Antonio, Texas
  • Ted Meek, Vice President of Sales, Modern Photo Offset Supply, Inc., Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Christine Reid, Director Corporate Accounts, Polaroid Graphics Imaging LLC, Waltham, Massachusetts
  • David Reny, Vice President and Managing Director, Standard Finishing Systems, Andover, Massachusetts

As part of the Awards Banquet that night, Thornhill also presented outgoing Board Chair Kyle Walker with a gavel in recognition of his leadership of the association.
