KODAK POLYCHROME GRAPHICS NAMES PETER U. BLUM AS EUROPE
REGION PRESIDENT
Norwalk, Connecticut, USA – Kodak Polychrome Graphics today announced
the appointment of Peter U. Blum as Corporate Vice President and President,
Europe Region. To lead all aspects of the company’s pivotal European
business, Blum will also be an officer of the company and a member of
the Leadership Team. He will report to Jeff Jacobson, Chief Executive
Officer.
A senior executive with broad international experience, Blum has spent most of his extensive career with the Hoechst organization. He most recently served eight years as Managing Director of the Printing Unit of Hoechst AG, which became part of Bayer AG (Agfa) in 1996.
A native of Germany, Blum joined Hoechst AG in 1969 as a management trainee in the Marketing Division. Over the ensuing three decades, he advanced through a variety of increasingly responsible positions around the world. Key posts included: Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of Hoechst Chemical Products Ltd. in Hong Kong; Sales Director of Hoechst’s Corporate Marketing Division in Germany; Group Vice President of Specialty Products at American Hoechst Corporation in Somerville, New Jersey, USA; President & Chief Executive Officer of Hoechst Canada Inc. in Montreal; and Member of the Board of Management of SIGRI GmbH, Meitingen.
Blum is an alumnus of INSEAD in France and the Harvard Graduate School of Business in the United States. Through the years, he has held leadership positions in industry organizations and has been a board member for various companies around the world.
As president of the Europe Region, Blum will have direct accountability for Sales, Marketing, Logistics, Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology. He will also manage European applications of such key functions as Manufacturing. He will be based at the company’s office in Harrow, United Kingdom.
