CHOSEN FOR DAX CAMPUS EVANGELIST PROGRAM The DAX Campus Evangelist program pairs the company with students from major printing and graphic arts-focused colleges and universities nationwide, creating a close partnership with the Internet Company for the Graphic Arts and those who represent future of the industry. Each campus evangelist will utilize DAX as an educational resource while assisting the company in identifying ways to guide their schools toward further prominence in the graphic arts community. Joining DAX is Stacie Holyfield, a current Clemson University senior enrolled in the College of Business and Public Affairs, where she is working toward her major in graphic communications. Among a variety of topics, Holyfield is learning lithographic methods and flexography, two areas she will pursue after college. Holyfield's studies in graphic communications at Clemson University have included hands-on projects such as package design, multi-panel brochures, stationary, and most recently, a book that utilized numerous layout and imaging applications. About Stacie Holyfield... Before coming to DAX, Holyfield, who was a Clemson University award-winner for "Outstanding Graphic Communications Academic Achievement," worked at State Printing, a Wallace company, in Columbia, SC. At State Printing, Holyfield helped create and implement day-to-day production and budgeting requirements that are vital to running a successful commercial printing company. After gaining experience on the operational side, however, Holyfield said that she is ready to focus on the technical aspects of the prepress industry. "The fact that DAX is 'The Internet Company for the Graphic Arts' really appeals to me, because the Internet is where everything in the industry is headed right now," said Holyfield. "A real-world, in-the-trenches education on the Internet, combined with my experience in graphic communications, is exactly what I've been looking for, and exactly what DAX can help me achieve." About the Campus Program... "DAX continues to host some of the brightest students and future leaders of our industry," said Charles Gehman, vice president of technology at DAX. "The DAX Campus Evangelist Program allows students to gain firsthand industry knowledge and experience, making them valuable individuals in the workforce while allowing them to achieve their own professional goals as well." The responsibilities of the DAX Campus Evangelists revolve around real-world issues that effect the industry, as well as their schools, on a daily basis. Students who are chosen for the program spend the summer getting hands-on training at the DAX headquarters before returning to their schools as campus evangelists for the following year. As part of the DAX team during the school year, each campus evangelist can attend national conferences, trade shows and forums with the company. The evangelists are encouraged to talk with fellow students and faculty about new products and technology developed by DAX and in the graphic communications marketplace in general. In addition, participating colleges and universities will have the opportunity to utilize various DAX technologies, such as our remote proofing and digital courier applications, Internet connections and networking equipment. Upon the faculty's requests, DAX will also come to the campus and give seminars and panel discussions on topics relevant to the graphic communications industry, providing the student body with an interactive learning environment. The DAX National Campus Evangelist Program recognizes and promotes the students' professional goals, giving them a leg up on real-world industry technologies before they are out of school. To learn more about the DAX National Campus Advocate Program or if your college or university is interested in joining the program, contact Charles Gehman, DAX vice president of technology.
