National Offset Blanket Supply Inc. (NOBSI) and Morway Corporation will combine their operations, through the formation of a holding company, Network Distribution International (NDI).

Mark E. Barrington of NOBSI and D. Scott Morrison of Morway will serve as co-CEOs of NDI. The company will operate seven facilities throughout the US with over 200 employees.

Morrison sees the merger as a plus for dealers, saying it will make NDI a stronger company. He mentioned that a recent topic at NAGASA was the effect of the Internet on dealers. "We think the Internet could make our position stronger.. a cost-effective way to communicate with dealers" and for them to get quick information about NDI's huge product line. "We are very committed to the channel."

The merger is "the next logical step to assuring the viability of our companies in this age of increasing business consolidation and fundamental change in the graphic arts marketplace, says Morrison. "Morway and National have always had strong manufacturer relationships. This combination will only serve to strengthen these relationships."

"Our company has been blessed with a remarkable ability to grow in an increasingly competitive marketplace" added Barrington. "This combination offers an opportunity to bring together a team of incredibly talented people who will create and build a world-class organization in the manufacture and distribution of pressroom consumables."
