AT DRUPA 2000 In its inaugural appearance at the world’s largest graphic arts
exhibition, Kodak Polychrome Graphics established three clear objectives
for the Drupa show:
Kodak Polychrome Graphics chose Drupa 2000 as the site to unveil its new identity statement as "The Media People." In addition to a wide array of products, the positioning was supported on the stand by striking graphics, multi-media presentations, and informative interactive touch screens. Kodak Polychrome Graphics can claim the position of "The Media People" because approximately 80% of its product line is in the graphic arts media, giving the company the broadest product portfolio available today. In addition, the presence of "The Media People" was felt throughout Drupa’s exhibit halls. Kodak Polychrome Graphics media products were featured at more than 30 locations, on the stands of many of the most prominent names in the industry, including Heidelberg, CreoScitex, ECRM, Screen, Purop-Eskofot, Exxtra, Komori, and Barco. On the Kodak Polychrome Graphics stand, customers from around the world saw a full spectrum of products and solutions, including the leading technology in thermal CtP systems. Kodak Polychrome Graphics showed the new Thermal Newspaper Plate and Newsetter System, which brings the advantages of thermal CtP to the newspaper industry. It also presented the new Compact Thermal Processor, a system that extends thermal CtP to mid-size printers. Next generation thermal plates in use on the stand included the Thermal No-process Plate and the Thermal Waterless Plate. In addition to thermal technologies, strong customer interest was documented
at every product area on the stand, including scanners, graphic arts films,
film imagesetters, chemical management systems, conventional plates and
digital proofing solutions. "These results reflect the exceptional benefits of these solutions," Jacobson said. "We are particularly pleased by the strong interest in Newsetter, which was only demonstrated last October. These Drupa orders prove that there is a need for a thermal CtP solution for the newspaper market, and our system is ready to meet that demand." [Note: The Thermal Newsetter System will soon be offered in the United States and Canada by the Anitec Newspaper Company.] Kodak Polychrome Graphics provides one of the broadest product and solutions portfolios available in the graphic arts industry today, including a wide range of conventional lithographic plates and thermal plates for computer to plate solutions, Kodak branded graphic arts films, and digital proofing products. With headquarters in Norwalk, CT, USA, and regional offices in the United States, Europe, Japan, Asia Pacific and Latin America, Kodak Polychrome Graphics serves over 130,000 customers in more than 100 countries.
