A personal note from David Steinhardt:
Thank You and Moving Forward ...
As many of you may know by now, I have resigned as president of NAGASA. Needless to say, this was an extremely difficult decision for me. Life often presents opportunities -- new challenges that not only allow for career advancement but also energize the spirit and soul.
For me, this decision was such an opportunity.
As of September 1, I will become the executive director of PrintImage International, formerly the National Association of Quick Printers (NAQP). With a membership of over 3,000 and an eight-person staff, this position will allow me to advance my career and stay in an industry that has been immensely rewarding. Another plus of the new position is a relocation to Chicago, which will bring me closer to my family in Wisconsin.
I would like to offer my most sincere thanks to NAGASA's leaders, members and staff that that have supported us over the last six years. Together we have accomplished much, and these accomplishments speak highly of our channel and its future. The association is stronger than ever, and the coming years will undoubtedly see NAGASA continue as on its course as a powerful force in the industry. I wish all of you the best, individually and collectively.
The NAGASA executive committee is moving aggresively to seek and hire a new president. Board chair Brian Kroot has appointed a search committee to be chaired by Dick Blair of Young Phillips, who has served in leadership positions since NAGASA's founding. The search committee will be composed of the executive committee: Brian Kroot, board chair; Kyle Walker, dealer vice president; Mark Kannenberg, manufacturer vice president; Paul Doucette, secretary/treasurer; and Tom Saggiomo, former manufacturer vice president.
There many talented individuals in the graphic arts industry, and I am sure the committee will have plenty of options in choosing my replacement. If you know of anyone who is qualified to take over the leadership of NAGASA, please let them know of this opportunity. Interested candidates should send a resume and salary requirements to:
Brian Kroot
NAGASA Board Chair
c/o Northeastern Graphic Supply
14 Industrial Way
PO Box 1418
Portland, ME 04104-1418
It is important that each of you know how critical your support of NAGASA has been to me and how much I value the past six years. Thank you for the opportunity to serve NAGASA, and I look forward to working with you in my new position.
Best Always,
David J. Steinhardt
