Service is becoming a critical revenue stream for many dealers.
How can you better protect your service contracts?
How do you make equipment service and maintenance equitable -
...to the customer by giving clear commitments in writing?
...to the dealer by protecting the dealer from non-service liability?

The answer is NAGASA's Model Service & Maintenance Agreement.

The Model Service & Maintenance Agreement was developed for the use of NAGASA dealer members and the broader graphic communications distribution channel. Use the Model to:

  • Strengthen your existing contract document.
Many dealers currently have service contracts in place and may want to use some of the clauses and contract language found in the Model to strengthen their existing contract documents.
  • Customize your contract with your own company name and particular terms and conditions. Other dealers may want to customize the Model with their own company name and particular terms and conditions in the agreement.

The concept of a "model" service contract originated at NAGASA's DBX '95 meeting in Dallas with the press, bindery, and finishing equipment dealers. The model is NAGASA Standard 1996-4 and is a product of synthesis from all parts of the industry. Mike Stoll, president of StreetSmart Seminars and an industry service expert worked with a team of dealers to develop a draft for review by the entire NAGASA membership. Second, a contract specialist, the law firm which wrote the NAGASA Model Dealer-Manufacturer Contract, reviewed and suggested additional legal language to protect all parties. Next, the draft model was printed in the March issue of Dealer Communicator for a 30-day industry comment period. The NAGASA Board of Directors reviewed and unanimously approved the model as NAGASA Standard 1996-4 in early April.

The Model Service & Maintenance Agreement was created for you. Use it to your best advantage.
Service revenue is becoming a major portion of many dealer operations and service contracts keep the revenue flowing.

NAGASA provides the Model Service & Maintenance Agreement as a printed contract or on disk for your convenience.
