NAGASA ANNOUNCES MODEL SERVICE Washington, DC, May 1996 - NAGASA, the North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association, has released a model service and maintenance agreement for use by graphic arts dealers and their customers. The agreement form-which was developed by Mike Stoll of StreetSmart Seminars after months of dialog with equipment servicing dealers, printers, trade shops and service bureaus-defines the nature and specifics of maintenance and service to be provided. Included in the agreement are provisions defining the hours during which service will be available, a number of service levels and options, and how charges accrue. The agreement is designed to protect both the servicing agent and the customer, and to provide a basis for mutual understanding. In announcing the availability of the agreement, NAGASA president and CEO David Steinhardt said: "This agreement form is another in the services which NAGASA provides to the graphic communications industry. By protecting both parties to the service agreement, the model contract is expected to assist both dealers and their customers." The contract is available in either printed or electronic form from NAGASA at no charge to members and for $65 to others. NAGASA-the North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association-is the world's largest trade association representing graphic communications dealers, distributors and the manufacturers whose products they sell. Collectively, NAGASA dealer members sell more than $2 billion of graphic communications equipment, supplies, systems, software and service each year. The association is an open, noncommercial, noncompetitive forum in which members can discuss issues critical to their individual businesses and the effectiveness of the marketing channel. With nearly 350 members, NAGASA produces programs for dealers and manufacturers which build stronger alliances and streamline costs and operations. Manufacturers are encouraged by the organization to sell products through the graphic communications dealer channel. In addition, the association produces technical and business performance information through standards, statistical, educational and publishing services. | |||
