NAGASA ELECTS NEW OFFICERS
AND DIRECTORS
Washington, DC, April 1997 - At its recent annual meeting in Naples, Florida, the members of NAGASA-the North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association-elected the following new officers and directors:
Chair (1997-98): John M. Alley, District Manager, The Pitman Co. Mr. Alley founded Alletec, a St. Louis and Memphis graphic arts dealership, in 1986. In 1996, Alletec was acquired by the Pitman Company. For the past two years, Mr. Alley has been a NAGASA Dealer/Reseller Vice President, the position from which, according to the association's bylaws, the Chair position is filled.
Dealer/Reseller Vice President (1997-98): Brian M. Kroot, President, Northeastern Graphic Supply. Mr. Kroot, a printing graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, is the president of Northeastern Graphic Systems. Mr. Kroot is NAGASA Chair-designate for 1989-99.
Manufacturer Vice President (1997-99): Mark Kannenberg, President, RBP Chemical Corporation. Mr Kannenberg is a graduate of the US Military Academy with an MBA from Harvard University.
Secretary/Treasurer (1997-99): Paul Doucette, President, Bell Industries Products Group. Mr Doucette-a graduate of California State university of Northridge with an MBA from Pepperdine University-is a 27-year Bell Industries employee. He is a corporate officer and heads the business unit responsible for graphics imaging, electronic manufacturing, and recreational products.
Directors:
(1997-99): Stanley E. Friemuth, President, Industrial Imaging Markets Group, Fuji photo Film USA. Mr. Friemuth joined Fuji in 1983 as national sales and marketing manager for the graphic Arts production Division. He was appointed president in 1996.
(1997-98): Ted Meek, Vice President and Graphic Arts Sales Manager, Modern Photo Offset printing Supply. A graduate of Indiana University, Mr Meek joined Indianapolis-based Modern Photo Offset printing Supply more than 25 years ago.
(1997-99): Dana Melick, Vice President of Operations, Luminous Technology Corporation. Mr. Melick has worked for both dealers and manufactures. He has been active NAGASA member since 1994.
(1997-99): Marilyn Mueller, president and CEO, Mueller Graphic Supply. Ms. Mueller brings more than 37 years experience in the graphic arts industry to the NAGASA board of directors. She heads a large multi-outlet graphic arts dealership based in Milwaukee, WI, where she is active in civil affairs.
(1997-98): Serge Ouellette, President, Printing Equipment and Supply Dealers' Association of Canada (PESDA) and eastern Division manager, Heidelberg Canada Graphic equipment. Mr. Oullette graduated as a pressman from the Institu des Arts graphiques de Montreal in 1962 and has been active in the graphic arts industry since then. In addition to his role as the president of PESDA, Mr. Ouellette serves on the boards of directors for the Quebec printers Association and the newly formed Graphic Communication Association of Canada.
(1997-99); Christine Miller Reid, Director of Dealer Operations/ North American, Polaroid, Graphics Imaging. Ms. Reid - a printing and graphic arts graduate of the Rochester Institute of technology - began her career as a newspaper production manager. She joined Polaroid in 1995.
(1997-99): William M. Rychel, President, G&R Technologies. Mr Rychel heads a suburban Chicago wholesale distribution company specializing in digital prepress, digital photography, and display graphics peripherals. He is past president of the Vision Group, an association of regional value added distributors of which G&R Technologies is the Midwest representative.
(1997-99): Andrew F. Snively, Executive Vice President, Bosworth Papers. Mr. Snively has been employed by Bosworth Papers-a Houston-based distributor of graphic arts supplies and paper-since 1973.
(1997-99): Steven O. Tripp. President, The Tripp Company. Mr. Tripp has been involved in the management of the Boston-based Tripp company for 17 years. He has been a member of the #1 Network board of directors since 1995.
(1997-99): Kelly VandenBosch, Sales Manager of Graphic Arts, X-Rite. Mr. VandenBosch is a printing graduate of ferris Sate University. A 12-year X-Rite employee, he directs sales efforts for the company's graphic arts product line in the US and Canada.
Additional directors, previously elected, include Gary Dolgins, Gerber Systems Corporation; William Manley, Graphco; Mike Tiburzi, Image Depot; and Jon Wright, Graphic Systems.
