NAGASA SCHEDULES 1997 ANNUAL MEETING Washington, DC, December 1996 - NAGASA, the North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association, has announced the program for its 1997 annual meeting, to be held April 20-22 at the Registry Resort in Naples, Florida. The meeting, NAGASA FORUM '97, provides the basis for dealers, distributors, VARs, manufacturers, and suppliers of printing and imaging products to improve working relationships for the benefit of the entire marketing channel. Also at the meeting, NAGASA will present its annual awards and elect officers and directors for the coming year. The FORUM '97 program, which carries the theme Manufacturer + Channel = Solutions, will focus on case studies and specific solutions to industry distribution problems. The meeting will be chaired by four graphic arts industry executives. Paul Doucette, president of Bell Industries Industrial Products Group, and Richard Solnick, president of Atlas Graphic Supply, are the dealer chairs. Manufacturer chairs for the meeting are Gary Dolgins, vice president of marketing for Gerber Systems Corporation, and Gordon Edwards, director of market development for Day International. NAGASA chair Richard M. Blair, in announcing the meeting, commented: "The NAGASA annual meeting is the premier venue for manufacturers and distributors serving the printing and imaging industry. Each year, attendees tell us their time spent is productive and the relationships developed at the meeting enhance their businesses." Attendees at NAGASA FORUM '97 can choose from 24 topical seminars and workshops on four tracks, in which to exchange operating experience with peers and explore opportunities in critical operational areas. The four tracks are: Expanding Opportunities in Finishing and the Pressroom; Digital Solutions: Channel Challenges; Business Tools for Success and Profitability; and Emerging Markets and Technology. Individual technology seminars will deal with issues such as the Internet and Electronic Data Interchange. In addition, two keynote speakers-Bill Monahan, chairman and CEO of Imation Corporation, and Michael McKinley, nationally known speaker on Maximizing Performance-will focus on issues critical to the graphic arts marketing channel.
