The meeting, NAGASA FORUM '98, provides the basis for dealers, distributors, VARs, manufacturers, and suppliers of printing and imaging products to improve working relationships for the benefit of the entire marketing channel. Also at the meeting, NAGASA will present its awards and elect officers and directors for the coming year. The FORUM '98 program, which carries the theme The Evolving Customer: New Channel Opportunities, will feature interactive sessions at which dealers and manufacturers will be encouraged to share distribution problems and to develop mutually profitable solutions. The meeting will be chaired by four graphic arts industry executives. Julius Hjulian, president and CEO of Texas Type, and Joe Thornhill, president of Taylor Impression, are the dealer chairs. Manufacturer chairs for the meeting are Bill Rychel, president of G&R Technologies, a Tekgraf Company, and James Keefe, Jr., vice president of Pre-press Equipment Company Inc. NAGASA chair John M. Alley, District Manager, The Pitman Company, in announcing the meeting, commented: "Each year, the NAGASA annual meeting provides manufacturers and distributors serving the printing and imaging industry with a venue for enhancing their businesses. Year after year, attendees comment on the value of the information gained and the relationships developed at the meeting." Attendees at NAGASA FORUM '98 will find each day of the conference devoted to a different element of their business. Eight workshops and 15 roundtables will provide forums of discussions on a wide range of issues. The first day will focus on the dealer-manufacturer relationship, and will feature spirited point/counterpoint discussions between dealers and manufacturers. Day two will address the evolving needs of prepublishing and printing companies, and how these customers are served by today's distribution channels. On the second and third days, FORUM '98 attendees will hear from actual end users in the corporate, publishing, and agency world. Throughout the three-day session, the conference will emphasize open dialogue between dealers and manufacturers seeking profitable growth. Keynote addresses will be made by Laura Gale, senior vice president of World Color Digital Services, and Victor Basile, Senior Vice President and Director of Print Graphic Services for D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles/New York.
