NAGASA SCHEDULES 1996 DISTRIBUTION BUSINESS EXCHANGE

Washington, DC, June, 1996 - NAGASA, the North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association, has announced the program for its 1996 Distribution Business Exchange, to be held in Tempe, Arizona, on September 14, 15 and 16, 1996. The meeting-known as DBX96-is the second such conclave, an annual symposium at which manufacturers and dealers in the graphic arts industry gather to discuss issues of importance to the channel.

A "hands-on" and "all business" session dedicated to assisting operating managers in dealing with new markets, DBX96 is essentially two meetings, one immediately following the other. The first meeting, on September 14 and 15, will focus on pressroom, bindery and finishing equipment. Of particular interest to graphic arts dealer sales and service personnel, the meeting will feature manufacturers, consultants and dealers detailing profitable equipment sales and service practices, with emphasis on how dealers can transition to the newer digital technologies. Attendees will learn the latest technology trends and will have the opportunity to meet with individual manufacturers to discuss specific areas of interest.

The second meeting, to be held September 15 and 16, will focus on the changing nature of the prepress market, and will include a session modeling the electronic imaging dealer of the future. Dealer personnel-especially branch sales and service managers and owners of small graphic arts dealerships-will learn how to maintain profitability and help dealer personnel adapt to an increasingly digital world. A special session will describe how graphic arts dealers can become value added resellers serving the imaging marketplace.

Both groups-meeting in a common session-will hear the results of two recent NAGASA surveys-one relating to 1995 year-end financial ratios, and another detailing dealer sales compensation practices.

A detailed agenda and registration materials may be obtained from NAGASA by calling 202-328-8441.

NAGASA-the North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association-is the world's largest trade association of graphic arts distributors, VARs and manufacturers. NAGASA dealers sell more than $3 billion of equipment, supplies, systems, software, paper and service each year, primarily to the imaging, publishing and graphic communications industries. NAGASA is dedicated to strengthening channel alliances, streamlining costs and operations, and improving the business performance of its more than 350 members.
