NAGASA Leads In Washington Washington, DC, January 1997 - NAGASA - the North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association - is playing a major role in encouraging industrial trade associations in the Washington, DC, area to become involved in community affairs. Vickie Braxton Schulz, NAGASA membership director , serves on the committee responsible for Gala Night - an evening of dinner, theater and dancing with all proceeds benefiting Community Family Life Services. Gala Night will be held on March 7, 1997, in Washington, DC. Numerous Washington dignitaries from the Clinton administration, Congress, District government and business are expected to attend. Community Family Life Services was chosen as the 1997 beneficiary of a grant from HEXAGON, a nonprofit organization which produces Washingtonís only original, political satirical musical comedy. HEXAGON members - area doctors, lawyers, congressional staffers, and association executives, among others - combine their talent annually to produce an original show with all proceeds benefiting a Washington area charity. Community Family Life Services began in 1969 as an emergency support center for ex-offenders and their families. Since then, the agency has expanded its holistic programs to include low income families, seniors and the homeless, serving some 10,000 clients each year. Said Richard M. Blair, NAGASA chair: "The NAGASA board has endorsed the Gala Night project, which represents an opportunity for our successful association to assist the community in which we operate." David J. Steinhardt, NAGASA president and CEO, and honorary Gala Night committee member, added: "All NAGASA members are encouraged to become involved in community development in their local market areas. Community investments offer returns far beyond the time and money involved for local businesses." NAGASA - the North American Graphic Arts Suppliers Association - is the world's largest trade association of dealers, value added resellers, systems integrators, manufacturers and distributors serving the graphic arts, imaging and publishing industries.
