At the annual meeting in April, NAGASA honored several prominent graphics communications leaders: The Mullan Awards for individuals who best exemplify the association's goals went to both:

In 1996 we inaugurated the Innovator Awards to highlight and recognize individuals and firms that advance new directions, approaches and practices that are unique and perhaps outside the traditional ways of doing business. in 1996 three awards were given:
